Fire Inspector - (Part-Time)
The Village of Ashwaubenon is looking to fill the position of a part-time fire inspector.  The responsibilities include:  perform State required fire inspections of commercial and multi-family tenant buildings; Enforce State fire codes and village ordinances; Draft fire pre-plans for Public Safety response.   Applicants must have State of Wisconsin Fire Inspection Certification; U.S. Citizen; at least 21 years of age; no felony or domestic abuse convictions; valid driver’s license.   Starting wage is $12.75/hr with 16-20 hours per week.  This position reports to the Lead Fire Inspector.  A Village application and resume are due to Chief Eric Dunning no later than Friday, March 10, 2017.

Paid-On-Call Firefighter

The hiring process for paid-on-call personnel is through the establishment of an eligibility list. The eligibility list is compiled by the submission of an application, oral interview, physical agility test, and background check. POC openings are then filled from the eligibility list. No prior experience is required to be considered for employment.

Applications for paid-on-call are accepted at any time and are retained until the next eligibility process is held. Applications can be obtained through the Ashwaubenon Public Safety website under the heading "Employment" or by stopping in the Holmgren Way Station at 2155 Holmgren Way.

The Ashwaubenon Explorer Post is a division of the Learning For Live Program. The Objective of the Post is to provide members with an opportunity to gain insight and practical experience in careers and the areas of responsibility within the field of Public Safety. This is accomplished through instruction by various public safety officers, scenarios, field experience, and national-level competitions. The Post also does service projects, public education events, and fund-raising. The Post is composed of students 14 - 21 and is limited to 15 members.
