Fire Inspections

The Fire Inspection Department conducts inspections of commercial buildings within the Village of Ashwaubenon.   Commercial buildings in the Village, consist of every building with the exception of 1 or 2 family dwellings.   The State of Wisconsin mandated the number of inspections that must be completed in a calendar year.   In the Village this number is 3,093.   As of October 24, 2003 there has been 2,956 inspections completed.

In the beginning of 2002 the Department conducted more follow-up fire inspections and added a $40.00 fee for follow-up inspections.   From January 1, 2003 to October 24, 2003, 290 follow-up inspections were conducted compared to 461 done in 2002.

The Fire Inspection Department is staffed with one Lead Fire Inspector and two part-time Fire Inspectors.   The Lead Fire Inspector also responds to fire calls to serve as a resource for the Incident Commander and the Safety Officer on a fire scene.
